BOSTON – Goals from 11 different players helped the Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team roll past Simmons on Saturday. The Wildcats scored 14 goals in the first half on their way to a 20-5 walloping of the Sharks.

The 20 goals are the most the Wildcats have scored since a 20-9 victory over Norwich on April 18, 2015. Johnson & Wales is averaging 19 goals in its last two games against the Sharks.
Twice in the first 10 minutes Johnson & Wales had a run of four-straight goals. Gabrielle Vasile (Milford, Mass.) scored 56 seconds into the game and Allison Pazienski (New Hyde Park, NY) capped the 8-1 run at the 20:23 mark with an assist from Marissa Hart (Cohoes, NY). Hart had a career-high four assists and equaled her career-high with five points.
Attacker Kayla Smith (Eastham, Mass.) keyed a 6-0 Johnson & Wales run to end the half by scoring three-straight goals as JWU went into the locker room up, 14-2. Smith scored a career-high five goals.
Six different players scored multiple points. Tying Smith and Hart for the team lead was midfielder Lydia Knapp (Glens Falls, NY). She had two goals and three assists for her third game this season of five or more points. Attacker Raquel Pederzani (Coventry, RI) scored three goals and Pazienski had two goals and an assist.
Johnson & Wales ends its four-game road trip with a 6 p.m. contest on Tuesday at Albertus Magnus.
