Jess Salisbury was named head coach of the Johnson & Wales women's ice hockey team in September of 2019 after two years on the bench as an assistant coach with the program.

Salisbury was a four-year member of the women’s ice hockey team at UMass Boston. She played in 78 contests and helped the Beacons to a trio of semifinals appearances in the ECAC Women’s East playoffs.

Prior to joining the Wildcats, Salisbury served as a student manager for both of the Beacons’ men’s and women’s ice hockey programs. She also served as a supervisor at the UMB Student-Athlete Success Center. She has coached at the Rhode Island Sting Goal Medal camp.

A native of North Smithfield, RI, Salisbury was a two-time all-state selection at North Smithfield High School. A two-year team captain, she helped the Northmen to a pair of league championships.

Salisbury graduated from UMass Boston in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in American Studies.
