Women’s Ice Hockey Wins Third-Straight 3-1 Over Panthers

PAWTUCKET, RI – A pair of second-period goals propelled the Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team to its third win in a row. The Wildcats remained in the hunt for a first-round home game in the NEHC playoffs by beating Plymouth State University, 3-1, on Tuesday.

Of Note:
It was nearly a scoreless first period until Taylor Thomas scored her first collegiate goal with a minute left in the opening frame.

Johnson & Wales got a pair of second-period goals to get the lead. Skylar Robert scored her second goal of the season on a wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle.

Drea Westgaard shoveled in the rebound of Koryn Russell's shot for the eventual game-winning goal.

After the first period, JWU goalie Jasmine Mucci was a brick wall as she stopped the final 28 shots she faced. The Panthers had the 41-24 advantage in shots.
