PAWTUCKET, RI – For two periods, the Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team hung with seventh-ranked Norwich University. The Cadets dashed any hopes for a JWU upset with a trio of third-period goals on their way to a 5-0 victory.
The win improved Norwich to 14-4-1 and 11-0 in the New England Hockey Conference. The Wildcats dropped to 4-4-3 in the league and 7-9-4 overall.
Amanda Conway and Blossom Truel accounted for 80 percent of Norwich's goals. Conway had the lone score of the first period then Truel found the back of the net in the second period. They scored within two minutes of each other in the third period, including a short-handed tally from Truel.
The Wildcats are on the road Friday to face Salem State at 7 p.m.
