PAWTUCKET, RI – Through 40 minutes, the Johnson & Wales University and Castleton University women's ice hockey teams could not score. The two teams combined for six goals in the third period, but neither came through with the game-winner in overtime as they tied, 3-3, on Friday.

Castleton broke open the scoring at the 3:30 mark of the third period when Darby Palisi scored on the power play when she put back the rebound of Ali Stevens' shot.
Johnson & Wales answered with its own power play goal five minutes later. Drea Westgaard picked up the puck behind the JWU goal, skated the length of the ice and beat Castleton goalie Alexis Kalm.
Three minutes later the Spartans were back on top, but the Wildcats answered 90 seconds after that on Cassie Wakefield's put back.
The Wildcats grabbed their first lead just 81 seconds later on the power play. Westgaard slid the puck to Koryn Russell and her one-timer put JWU up 3-2.
JWU was 51 seconds away from a victory, but Courtney Gauthier grabbed a loose puck in the JWU zone and found the back of the net to force overtime.
Johnson & Wales gets back on the ice Saturday at 3:55 p.m. to take on #7 Norwich.
