Wildcats Skate to 5-5 Draw at Plymouth State

PLYMOUTH, NH – The Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team could not make a two-goal lead stand up in the third period on Saturday. Plymouth State University rallied to score two goals in the final five minutes of regulation to force overtime and an eventual 5-5 tie.

Of Note:
The Wildcats answered PSU's first goal with three scores including career-first goals for Katarina Diehr and Skylar Robert. Junior Kaitlin Irvine got the scoring started with her first of the season and the first since her rookie year.

The game was tied at 3-3 going into the third period after the Panthers scored the only two goals of the second frame.

Drea Westgaard broke the tie then Cassidy Simanski's power play goal put JWU up 5-3 with 7:03 left.

Georgia McLellan scored with 43 seconds remaining to force overtime.

Plymouth State got the only two shots on goal during overtime and had a 43-32 advantage.
