Women’s Ice Hockey Handles Anna Maria 6-1

PAWTUCKET, RI – In just about any other sport at Johnson & Wales University, facing off against Anna Maria would be a conference game, but not in ice hockey. The women's ice hockey team snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the AMCATS, 6-1, on Saturday.

Of Note:
Hannah Tracy scored her fifth goal in four games when she opened the scoring just 2:20 into the first period. She tipped home Taylor Davis' shot right on the doorstep for JWU's second short-handed goal of the season.

Senior Kathryn Mason extended the lead five minutes later when she jammed home the rebound of Cassie Wakefield's shot.

Slick passing by Samantha Kawejsza found a wide open Drea Westgaard and she found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season.

A power play goal at the end of the second period and midway through the third period gave Tracy her first collegiate hat trick.

Rookie Shannon Reilly notched her first collegiate goal at the 15:13 mark of the third period.
