MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Hannah Tracy did not lose a step over the winter break, putting in important performances in the first games of the New Year for the Johnson & Wales University women's hockey team. As a result, Tracy was named New England Hockey Conference Player of the Week by the league office.
This is the second time Tracy has grabbed a weekly honor in her career (Player of the Week, February 4, 2018), but it's the first of the season for the forward. This is the third weekly award for the Wildcats. Cassie Wakefield was named Player of the Week on November 4, while Claire Parry earned Goaltender of the Week on December 9. Castleton's Alexis Kalm collected Goaltender of the Week, and New England College's Tatiana Fedeneva picked up Rookie of the Week to round out the awards.
Tracy totaled four points this past weekend as they went 1-1 in a home-and-home series against Salve Regina. In Friday's 4-1 win, the junior scored the third and fourth goals of the contest to secure the JWU victory. She followed that with a goal and an assist in Saturday's 3-2 setback.
The Wildcats return to the ice Wednesday as Sacred Heart comes to the Ocean State for a 4 p.m. puck drop.
