Women’s Ice Hockey Drops 3-2 Decision at Salve Regina

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – A weekend sweep was not in the cards for the Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team. A day after defeating Salve Regina University, the Wildcats lost a 3-2 decision to the Seahawks on Saturday.

Salve Regina: 4-10
Johnson & Wales: 6-6-2

SRU: Madison Jalbert (L, 4-10) 15 Saves
JWU: Isabelle Day (W, 0-2) 13 Saves

Statistical Leaders:
Hannah Tracy (JWU): 1 Goal, 1 Assist
Cassidy Simanski (JWU): 1 Goal

Of Note:
The Wildcats used a power play opportunity to tie the game in the first period. Hannah Tracy scored for the second game in a row when she found the back of the net off the pass from Hailey Boyle.

The extra skater helped the Seahawks get their next two goals. Salve Regina took advantage of a 5-on-3 power play to get an insurance goal in the third.

Two minutes later, the Wildcats pulled within a goal on Cassidy Simanski's power play tally. Unfortunately, JWU couldn't pull even with an empty net.

Despite making 49 saves, Isabelle Day couldn't get her first victory.
