MARSHFIELD, Mass. – In her first season, Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey goaltender Jasmine Mucci earned the starting spot in net. She was rewarded for her play all season with a spot on the New England Hockey Conference All-Rookie Team as announced by the league office.
Twice during the year, the Arlington, Mass. native was recognized by the league with Rookie of the Week (November 26) and Goaltender of the Week (February 4).
This season Mucci recorded a 2.56 goals against average as well as .909 save percentage. She ranked second in the league in total saves. In the last month of the season, Mucci lowered her GAA to 1.57 and went 5-1 to boost JWU up the NEHC standings. She recorded her first collegiate shutout with a 1-0 victory over Plymouth State on January 27.
The conference playoffs start Saturday as the fifth-seeded Wildcats travel to the #4 seed Southern Maine. Puck drop is 4 p.m.
