PAWTUCKET, R.I. – It was an offensive outburst on Friday for the Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team. The Wildcats scored a season-high five goals as they defeated Plymouth State, 5-2.

JWU: Jasmine Mucci (W, 3-7-2) 13 saves, 2 goals
PS: Alex Rajsigl (L, 1-1-2) 19 saves, 5 goals
JWU jumped to a quick lead in the fourth minute of the first period. Cassie Wakefield rounded the cage from behind to push in a loose puck.
Plymouth State rallied in the second period getting on the board with a goal from Amber Thomas in the 11th minute.
PSU went on the power play shortly thereafter, but that was not enough to stop defender Tamara Bowden from scoring. Bowden picked upthe puck away from a Panthers' stick, skated past two defenders and shot top-shelf.
Wildcats went on to add three more goals, including two from Kathryn Mason.
JWU's Jasmine Mucci faced 15 shots, turning away 13.
The Wildcats are back in action Saturday against Nichols College at 7:40 pm.
