Women’s Golf Takes 3rd at Empire 8 Championship

BALLSTON SPA, NY – Last year the Johnson & Wales University women's golf team finished fourth at the Empire 8 Conference Championship. In the league's swansong, the Wildcats moved up a spot on Sunday at the Ballston Spa Country Club.

Johnson & Wales finished the event with a two-day total of 762 (369-393). Cortland State won the championship at 667 (331-336).

The top golfer for the Wildcats was Hannah Hall as she turned in a 36-hole score of 182 (89-93). Tying Hall for the low round of the day was Alexis Anastos with a 93 as part of her 184 (91-93).

Senior Caroline Mettler posted a two-day score of 197 (93-104). Two strokes back of her was Hannah Lifschin at 199 (96-103). Rounding out the JWU scores was Victoria Perez with a 264 (129-135).

Next Saturday the Wildcats host Suffolk and Westfield State at Metacomet Country Club.
