MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Led by the lowest 36-hole total by an individual golfer, the Johnson & Wales University women's golf team posted its lowest 36-hole total in the program's brief history. The Wildcats shot 799 (391-408) to finish 10th at the George Phinney Golf Classic.
Freshman Alexis Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa.) led the team with a two-day score of 182 (97-85), which is the lowest 36-hole total in the team's four-year history. Junior Megan LeBlanc (Madison, Conn.) followed with a 198 (90-108) and junior Hannah Hall (Farmington, Utah) was a stroke back at 199 (96-103). Sophomore Caroline Mettler (Bluffton, Ind.) wrapped up the JWU scoring at 220 (108-112).
Johnson & Wales is back on the course next weekend at the Williams Invitational.
