JWU Women’s Golf Opens George Phinney Golf Classic

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Johnson & Wales University women's golf team had another good opening 18 holes to start the George Phinney Golf Classic. The Wildcats carded a 391 at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

The Wildcats are in eighth place while host Middlebury leads with a 320.

Junior Megan LeBlanc (Madison, Conn.) led the JWU contingency with a 90 to tie for 36th. Newcomer Hannah Hall (Farmington, Utah) was second at 96. Just a stroke back of her was freshman Alexis Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa.). Completing the JWU scores on day one was sophomore Caroline Mettler (Bluffton, Ind.) at 108.

The tournament wraps up with the final 18 holes on Sunday.
