Women’s Golf Wraps up First Tournament of 2017-18

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University women's golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the season on Sunday. The Wildcats fired a 411 on the final 18 holes to take 16th at the Mount Holyoke Invitational played at the Orchards Golf Course.

Johnson & Wales posted a two-day total of 796 (385-411). Williams won the event with a score of 603.

Leading the team in her first event was freshman Alexis Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa.) with a 36-hole total of 182 (89-93). Her two-day score is the lowest in the program's three-year history. Next on the team was junior Megan LeBlanc (Madison, Conn.) at 191 (83-103). Sophomore Hannah Lifschin (Denville, N.J.) had the two best rounds of her career, carding a 207 (103-104). Rounding out the JWU scores was newcomer Hannah Hall (Farmington, Utah) at 216 (105-111) and sophomore Caroline Mettler (Bluffton, Ind.) fired a 222 (107-115).

Up next for the Wildcats is the George Phinney Classic, hosted at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.
