MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Through its first two tournaments of the fall, the Johnson & Wales University women's golf team has saved its best round for the second day. The Wildcats got out to a good start on day one of the Middlebury Invitational at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course as they shot their lowest round of the season.
Johnson & Wales carded a 417 on the opening 18 holes and sits in 12th place. Prior to Saturday, JWU's lowest round was a 422 on day two of the Mount Holyoke Invitational.
Leading the team with a score of 98 was sophomore Megan LeBlanc (Madison, Conn.). Shooting a pair of season-low 106 were freshmen Megan Ogden (Canadaigua, NY) and Caroline Mettler (Buffton, Ind.). Junior Megan Janis (Commack, NY) was next at 107 and junior Pawntip Prasith (Old Saybrook, Conn.) rounded out the scoring with a 110.
The tournament concludes with the final 18 holes on Sunday.
