BOSTON – Points were tough to come by on Saturday for the Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team. The Wildcats dropped a 77-31 decision at Emerson.
Johnson & Wales: 7-3
Maddy Moro scored the first basket of the game just 30 seconds into the contest, but JWU would go cold the rest of the quarter. Britney Gallagher made a basket with 24 seconds remaining in the quarter, but the Wildcats trailed 20-4 at that point.
Johnson & Wales struggled from the floor, shooting 11-of-47 (23.4 percent) while the Lions went 29-of-57 (50.9 percent). The Wildcats committed 34 turnovers, which Emerson converted into 32 points.
Moro just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Gallagher added eight points.
The Wildcats have one more game before the holiday break as they travel across town to face Rhode Island College at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
