Rams Come Back to Beat Women’s Basketball 73-64

MANWAH, N.J. – Farmingdale State went on an 11-0 run to start the fourth quarter and defeat the Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team on Friday. The Rams topped the Wildcats, 73-64, in the Roadrunner Tip Off Tournament, hosted by Ramapo College.

Farmingdale State: 2-1
Johnson & Wales: 1-1

Statistical Leaders:
Tiondra Hands (JWU): 13 points, 5 steals, 5 rebounds
Maddy Moro (JWU): 17 points, 13 rebounds

Of Note:
The last time Johnson & Wales and Farmingdale State squared off was December 16, 2015 when the Wildcats hauled in a school-record 82 rebounds, which at the time was the fourth-highest total in NCAA D3 history.

Farmingdale State led by as many as 11 in the first half and went into the locker room with a 34-31 margin. JWU got its first lead of the second half, 35-34, at the 8:23 mark of the third quarter on a Marissa Cottrell jumper. Unfortunately, the Rams outscored the Wildcats, 29-17, in the fourth quarter thanks to 11 free throws.

The free throw line was not charitable to the Wildcats as they went 10-of-18 (55.6 percent) from the line. JWU outrebounded FSU, 49-41.

Recording her second double-double in as many games was Maddy Moro with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Tiondra Hands was next with 13 points to go along with five steals and five assists.
