Women’s Basketball Loses 64-57 at Saint Joseph’s

STANDISH, Maine – A late push wasn't enough for the Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team to stay undefeated in the conference. The Wildcats lost a 64-57 decision at Saint Joseph's on Tuesday.

Saint Joseph's: 11-1, 4-0 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 6-6, 2-1 GNAC

Statistical Leaders:
Raquel Pederzani (JWU): 15 points
Kristen Habbel (JWU): 10 assists, 4 steals
Ally Mishol (JWU): 10 points, 7 rebounds

Of Note:
After a close first quarter, the Monks outscored the Wildcats 38-25 in the second and third quarters. Johnson & Wales outscored Saint Joseph's, 17-10, in the fourth quarter. The difference in the game came at the free throw line where SJC made as many free throws (19-of-25), as JWU took (10-of-16).

Senior guard Raquel Pederzani (Coventry, RI) was tops on the team with 15 points. Junior Ally Mishol (Longmeadow, Mass.) came close to a double-double with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Kristen Habbel (Phoenixville, Pa.) tied her career-high with 10 assists to go along with four steals. Bobbie Whitehead (Bronx, NY) came off the bench to score 11 points and pull in five rebounds.

The Wildcats try to get back into the win column on Thursday when they travel to Saint Joseph (CT) for a 7 p.m. contest.
