|Title:||Assistant Softball Coach|
A talented hitter during her playing dates, Elena Bowman brings a wealth of knowledge to the Johnson & Wales University softball coaching staff. Coach Bowman will work primarily with the hitters and catchers as well as assist with fundraising.
While at Manhattan College, Bowman was one of the most prolific hitters in the history of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. A four-time all-conference selection, she was named the 2015 MAAC Player of the Year.
Bowman’s leadership went well beyond the field. A 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year award nominee, she was also a finalist for the Division I NCAA Softball Senior Class award. The honor is given to the student-athlete who excels in athletics and academics while exhibiting leadership characteristics and impacting their community.
She completed her playing career as Manhattan’s all-time home run leader (52) as well as the Jasper’s career leader in slugging percentage, walks and games played. Bowman also ranks in the program’s top three in hits, doubles, RBIs and runs scored.
Bowman was just as talented in the classroom as she was on the diamond. A four-time All-MAAC Academic Team selection, she was a 2015 Capital One First-Team Academic All-American. Bowman graduated from Manhattan in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
