Wildcats Go 1-1 On Last Day of Spring Break Trip

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Johnson & Wales University softball team wrapped up its spring break trip on Saturday. The Wildcats dropped a 12-8 decision to Lebanon Valley College then topped Husson University, 9-0.

Of Note:
JWU got its second masterful pitching performance from Kristin Frost against Husson. She struck out 10 batters while only giving up three hits to get her third win of the week.  

Frost got all the run support she'd need with two runs in the third, including an RBI double by Jenna Conroy.

Devin Scales belted a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Thanks to the Dutchmen, the Wildcats got out to a fast start in the first two innings. A wild pitch and error brought in three runs in the first inning.

A double by rookie Kaelani Gamble in the second scored Frost to up the JWU lead to 5-3.

LVC grabbed an 8-5 lead with five runs in the fourth inning. RBI singles from Summer Ramundo and Scales, cut the margin to 8-7, but the Dutchmen got two more in the top of fifth.

Johnson & Wales travels to Salve Regina for a 4 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday.
