
BOSTON – Three runs in the fourth inning pushed the University of Saint Joseph past the Johnson & Wales University softball team in the GNAC Tournament on Thursday. The Blue Jays defeated the Wildcats, 3-2.

Shari Minalga got a two-out single in the second. Kristin Frost roped a double to left field to bring in the first run.
Simmons tied the game with an Isabella Russo triple in the fourth. A pair of errors allowed the Sharks to take a 3-1 lead.
The Wildcats got a run back in the fifth when Brenna DuPerry had a leadoff double and came around to score on a Meghan Gavin ground out.
Unfortunately, USJ pitcher Amaria Sharon retired the last seven Wildcats to end the game.
