CLERMONT, Fla. – A pair of strong pitching performances and good defense gave the Johnson & Wales University softball team two wins on Friday during its spring break trip. The Wildcats started the day by downing Augustana, 3-2, then topped RPI, 4-3.
Johnson & Wales: 3-3
Sophomore MJ Bourgeois tossed the first complete game of her collegiate career. She surrendered two runs, one earned, on five hits with three strikeouts.
RPI got out to a fast start with two runs in the first off JWU starter Kristin Frost.
Mishol drove in the eventual winning run with a single in the sixth to plate Kayla Prior.
Frost threw a complete game, striking out seven with six hits.
The spring break trip wraps up Saturday against Defiance and Penn State Brandywine.
