Seventh-Inning Rally Leads Softball Over RWU 12-7

BRISTOL, RI – The Johnson & Wales University softball team played a rare single game on Tuesday at Roger Williams, but scored enough runs for two games. The Wildcats got five runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeats the Hawks, 12-7.

Johnson & Wales: 24-10

Kristin Frost: 2-3 1 R, 2 RBIs
Kayla McKinnon: 2-4, 2 R, 1 RBI

Of Note:
JWU built a 7-4 lead after five innings. Kristin Frost belted a two-run home run in the third and Katie Rufo added her GNAC-leading seventh home run of the year in the fifth.

Roger Williams got a run in the fifth then pulled even with three more in the sixth.

Rufo got the scoring started in the seventh when she roped a double to score Brenna DuPerry. RBI singles by Kayla McKinnon and Saxon Bresnahan plus a pair of RWU errors contributed to a five-run inning.

MJ Bourgeois threw a scoreless seventh inning to pick up her second win of the year.
