For the second year in a row, the Johnson & Wales University softball team will host a home run derby to benefit The Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children's Hospital. The event will be held on Saturday, October 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Held on the JWU softball field at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex on the Harborside Campus, teams of three will get 30 swings to hit as many home runs as possible. The cost is $15 per team or $10 for an individual hitter. Prizes will be awarded to the teams with the highest score.
The Tomorrow Fund is a non-profit organization that provides daily financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families who are treated in The Tomorrow Fund Clinic located in the Edwin Forman Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology Center at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence.
For anyone who can't make it to the event, but still wants to contribute to the Tomorrow Fund, the softball team has set up a Go Fund Me Page.
