MANSFIELD, Conn. – The wins keep piling up for the Johnson & Wales University softball team. The Wildcats won for the 11th time in their last 12 games as they defeated Eastern Connecticut State by identical 8-3 scores in both games of Thursday's doubleheader.

Tiffani Semanchik (JWU): 3-4, 2 R (GM 1), 2-2, 2 RBI (GM 1)
JWU broke open game one with five runs in the sixth inning. Second baseman Ally Mishol (Longmeadow, Mass.) roped a two-run home run to score Tiffani Semanchik (Flemington, NJ). Two innings earlier, Mishol drove in Semanchik with a double. Mishol was 3-4 with three RBIs.
Eight runs were more than enough for pitcher Jennifer Corona (Middle Island, NY) to pick up her league-leading 17th victory. She gave up three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.
Johnson & Wales scored in its first four at-bats during the nightcap. Emily Gorecki (Bremerton, Wash.) drove in DuPerry with a single in the first then DuPerry cranked a two-run home run in the second.
Gorecki started a three-run fourth inning with a two-run double. The GNAC's leading hitter went 3-for-3 with three RBIs in game two.
Junior hurler Noelle Weiss (Hartland, Wisc.) threw the first four innings to get the win. Frost tossed three scoreless innings in relief to pick up the save.
Johnson & Wales wraps up the regular season on Saturday when it travels to the University of St. Joseph for a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
