Cross Country Championship Preview
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Cross Country is on the road this weekend to Saint Joseph's College of Maine for the GNAC cross country championship. The Wildcats are set to compete with 11 other schools for the championship title. The women's race, which will be a 6K course for the first time in league history, will shoot off at 1:00 PM, followed by the men's 8K at 2:00 PM.
 
In the coaches pre-championship poll the JWU women are polled to finish eight with 49 points, while the men are polled to finish seventh with 44 points. However Coach Walton and the Wildcat runners hopeful to shatter the expectation. Top runners like Kalyan Dunham, Claire Livernois, Haley Chaykowski, Zach Curry, Matthew Ursillo, and Nicholas Perieria, are looking to improve on their personal best.
 
The top-seven student-athletes in each race will earn All-GNAC First Team honors, while the 8-14 finishers earn Second Team accolades. The top finisher will automatically be named the GNAC Runner of the Year and the top first-years will receive GNAC Rookie of the Year recognition
