Cross Country Runs at Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON- This weekend Cross Country traveled to compete with 28 teams at the Suffolk invitational. With the GNAC championship two weeks away, the Wildcats cross country teams prepared by taking to the course, the mens team finished in 15th place while the women took 16th

The men earned a total of 437 points, placing ahead of four GNAC competitors Lasell (17th), Regis (19th), Dean (22nd) and Rivier (24th). While the womens team earned 481 points, ahead of Rivier (18th) and Lasell (19th). 

Leading the pack for the mens team was first-year Zach Curry, coming in 71st place and crossing the line in 29:25.0.  Matthew Ursillo and Nicholas Pereira were close behind taking 82nd and 84th place, finishing in 29:45.7 and 29:51.0. Rounding out the Wildcat top five, Nathan Malorzo, in 91st place finishing in 30:17.3 and Owen Eubanks in 109th place, finishing in 31:41.6. 

The best finish of the day was turned in by Kaylan Dunham, placing 52nd finishing in 21:38.4. Next to cross the line was Claire Livernois in 98th place, finishing in 23:58.9. Followed by Haley Chaykowski in 101st crossing the line in 24:18.6. Rounding out the Wildcat top five, Ellie Aliperti in 110th place finishing 25:35.7, and Julia Thompson in 120th place finishing in 26:07.5.  

After a week off, JWU cross country will trek to Standish, Maine where they will run for GNAC glory Saturday, Nov. 2.
