WESTFIELD, Mass - In cold cloudy conditions the cross country teams competed in the 23rd annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State Saturday morning. Competing against 38 NCAA Division I, II, and III schools, the men's teams finished in 20th place and the women in 22nd.
The men scored 546 points and the women scored 653 points. Trinity won both the mens and womens sides of the race.
The top four Wildcats improved upon their times and finished under 30 minutes. Coming in 94th place, Nicholas Pereira, led the pack for the mens team, he was able to improve on his personal best by almost 30 seconds, crossing the line at 29:00.80. Matthew Ursillo, taking 99th place, trailed by only 12 seconds finishing in 29:12.39. Freshman Zach Curry finished in 29:26.79 and Nathan Malorzo crossed the line in 29:36.39.
Leading the way for the women's team was Kaylan Dunham placing 80th with a time of 20:44.14. Next to cross the line was Clair Livernois finished in138th place with a time of 22:36.86. She was followed by Haley Chaykowski, in 150th place, crossing the line at 23:09.75. Rounding out the top four for the Wildcats was Ellie Aliperti in 178th place crossing the line at 24:38.42.
The Wildcats return to trail Saturday October 19 at the Suffolk Invitational.
