
MANCHESTER, Conn. - The Johnson & Wales University cross country teams were on the road Saturday to run at the Trinity Invitational. The women placed fourth while the men came in fifth.
The women's team scored 116 points and were edged out Westfield State. The men posted 146 points behind Trinity, Westfield State, Nichols and Connecticut College.
The best men's time of the day came from Matthew Ursillo who finished in 19:53.5 to place 37th. Two spots back was Cole Geraghty, placing 39th, in 20:00.3. Nicholas Pereria crossed the finish line in 21:16.0, followed by Brent Giles (21:54.0) and Nathan Pasquarello (21:16.2).
The women were led by sophomore Kaylan Dunham with a 21st-place time of 22:23.4. She was followed closely by Kate Fiorella, who finished 20 seconds later in 27th place at 22:54. Victoria Barlow finished in 23:45.7 while Hannah Blossom (24:45.7) and Kate Henderson (32:16.6) rounded out the JWU scorers.
