
The men's cross country team recorded a 17th place finish at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park on Saturday morning. The Wildcats finished with 436 points while host Westfield State took home the team title at the event that featured 37 schools and nearly 400 runners from throughout the northeast region.
Sophomore Adam Sachs (Ellicott City, Md.) led the way for Johnson & Wales, notching a 12th place finish in a time of 26:35 over the 8K course. Sophomore Alex Melnick (Port Jervis, N.Y.) recorded a time of 27:53 which was good for a 59th place finish while fellow sophomore Harold Hennesey (Bolton, Conn.) rounded out the top-100 runners for JWU, finishing in a time of 28:19, good for 84th place. Sophomore Brandon Au (Oxford, Conn.) was in 133rd place with a time of 29:18 while freshman Josh Letendre was right behind home with a time of 29:36 which had him in 148th place.
The Wildcats will return to action on Friday, October 17th when they travel to Franklin Park for the Emmanuel Saint Invitational, starting at 4:00 p.m.
