Men’s Volleyball Falls 3-0 to #1 Springfield

SPRINGFIELD,  Mass. –  The Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball team hung with top-ranked Springfield College, but couldn't pull off the upset. The Wildcats lost 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-19) on Friday.

Records:
#1 Springfield: 11-1
Johnson & Wales: 8-8, 2-0 GNAC

Statistical Leaders:
Jack Pincince (JWU): 9 kills, 3 blocks
Ben Sandt (JWU): 25 assists

Of Note:
The Wildcats jumped out to an 18-15 lead in the second set thanks to a Springfield error. Unfortunately, the Pride rally for a 10-3 run to take a 2-0 lead.

Leading the JWU attack was sophomore Jack Pincince with nine kills. Rookie Ben Naouai added seven. Sophomore setter Ben Sandt handed out 25 assists.  

Both teams had good offensive production with the Wildcats hitting .306, but Springfield was better at a .442 rate.

JWU is back at home Monday to host Emerson at 7 p.m.
