BOSTON -- A few plays down the stretch made the difference for the Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball team Thursday night. The Wildcats won their third match in a row with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-33) triumph at Emmanuel.
Emmanuel: 17-10, 6-3 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 16-8, 5-3 GNAC
The Saints got the first set to 23-22, but committed an error then Cameron Ponce came through with a kill on set point. Set three was 23-21 before the last of Jack Pincince's team-high 12 kills and a pair of Emmanuel errors.
The JWU offense was well distributed as four players had six or more kills. Pincince had his third double-digit kill game in his last five contests.
Ponce recorded a double-double with 15 assists and 12 digs.
The Wildcats were aided by Emmanuel service errors as the Saints committed 13 miscues to just two by JWU.
JWU is on the road Saturday to take on Regis and Rivier.
