
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball team went on the road Saturday for a pair of non-conference matches. The Wildcats started the day with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-14, 25-14) sweep of Bard, but lost 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 16-25, 22-25) to Vassar.

Of Note:
Bard cut the JWU lead in half, 12-6, in set one, but the Wildcats finished the opening stanza on a 13-1 run. Jack Pincine had five of his game-high eight kills during the run and finished the set with an ace.
Gio Zabatta went on a five-point service run, including a pair of aces, to help JWU jump out to a 13-3 lead in the second set.
The Wildcats kept Bard out of system with 11 aces. Johnson & Wales hit .458 while limiting the Raptors to a -.202 rate.
After taking the first set, Vassar closed within 22-20. Sanjae Holloway came through with two of his team-high 14 kills to secure the set.
Another Holloway kill pulled JWU to 23-22 in the fourth set. Unfortunately, Vassar produced a kill and an ace to finish the match.
Holloway also produced 10 digs for his first double-double as a Wildcat. Ponce was next with 12 winners.
The Brewers hit .328, to the Wildcats' .241 pace, and had a 46-37 advantage in digs.
