
Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team hosted Salve Regina on Sunday for an afternoon contest that featured physicality and resistance, traits that define both clubs in the 2019 season. JWU would come away victorious as a singular goal in the second half partnered with excellent defense secured the one nil decision.

The Wildcats broke through in the second half as Nick Gutekunst fought through several defensemen to set up a cross that Erik Schneider headed into the back of the net. The beautiful score came at the 52nd minute and would be the decider in the contest.
Both teams played virtually even with the corner opportunities tied at 5, and Salve Regina mustering one more shot over JWU, 6 to 5.
