Norton, Mass – The Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team scored first in their match on Keefe Field in Norton, Massachusetts. It was the Lyons of Wheaton College, however, who scored last as Wheaton upended the Wildcats in their early-season match-up on Wednesday.

The lead was short-lived for the Wildcats as five minutes later, Lyons defender Jules Stewart headed in the equalizer from a corner kick from JD Souza in the 37th minute.
Both teams battled in a defensive stalemate till the Lyons broke through with the eventual game-winner at the 46th minute of the second half. Nick Vanini scored an unassisted goal to cap the match. It was only the second goal of the senior defensemen's career.
The Wildcats barely lost the shot battle 9-8, but was on the disadvantage in corners 6-0 to the Lyons.
