Wildcats Upset Bid Falls Short against #17 Monks
STANDISH, Maine – The Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team put a scare into the 17th-ranked team in the country. The Wildcats got out to a quick lead at Saint Joseph's (Maine), but couldn't hold on as the Monks prevailed, 3-1, on Saturday. 
Saint Joseph's: 7-0-0 , 3-0 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 3-1-1, 1-1  GNAC

Of Note:
The Monks hadn't allowed a goal this season until JWU's Nick Gutekunst scored the first goal of the game in the 11th minute. It was his third goal of the year. 
SJC answered with the equalizer and go-ahead goals in the final five minutes of the first half.  
Saint Joseph's outshot the Wildcats,15-4, and controlled the corners with a 5-1 advantage.
Next Game:
The Wildcats go on the road on Monday to take on the Lasers of Lasell College in a make-up contest that was postponed Tuesday due to weather.
