NASHUA, N.H. – The ability to win the close games has been a hallmark of the Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team this season. The Wildcats won their fourth one-goal game in a row as they defeated Rivier, 1-0, on Saturday.
Rivier: 1-6-1, 0-2-1 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 6-1, 2-1 GNAC
Jozef Jennings: 1 Goal
Despite having plenty of opportunities, the Wildcats couldn't get one into the net until the 54:02 mark. Jozef Jennings (Barrington, R.I.) scored for the second time this year on a penalty kick.
Johnson & Wales spent most of the game in the Rivier end of the field. The Wildcats had a 27-1 advantage in shots, including 10-1 on goal. JWU took eight corners, compared to one by the Raiders. It's been more than six years since a JWU opponent did not get off more than one shot.
Johnson & Wales is right back at it on Sunday when it travels to Roger Williams for a 1 p.m. contest.
