Wildcats’ Defense Stifles the Pride

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team defeated the Regis College Pride on Tuesday night, 13-4. The Wildcats' defense held strong for the entirety of the game, forcing Regis into five shot clock violations and 24 turnovers.

Johnson & Wales: 4-11, GNAC 3-4

Of Note:
Erik Lindaas scored the first of four first-quarter at 12:52 on a pass from Ben Farrell. JWU forced three shot clock violations in the period which helped limit the Pride to only one goal.

Matt Gelb amassed five points in the first half, assisting or scoring on five-straight goals. Johnson & Wales took a 9-2 lead into the locker room

Johnson & Wales shutout Regis in the third quarter and got fourth-quarter goals from Joe McIntyre, Jacob deMay and Zach D'Amico to secure the victory.

The Wildcats outshot the Pride, 32-25, and had a 26-14 ground ball margin.
