NEW HAVEN, Conn - The Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team defeated the Albertus Magnus College Falcons on Tuesday night, 15-7. The Wildcats outscored the Falcons in three of the four quarters on their way to the victory.
Albertus Magnus: 2-6, GNAC 1-4
Johnson & Wales: 3-10, GNAC 2-4
JWU scored three unanswered goals to end the first half with Matt Gelb scoring or assisting on all three. Matt Hart scored what proved to be the game-winning goal to end the half as the Wildcats took an 8-3 lead into the locker room.
Erik Lindaas started the scoring 46 seconds into the third quarter to continue the Wildcats' 4-0 run. The Wildcats scored five goals in the third quarter to extend the lead to 13-4.
Johnson & Wales had the advantage in shots, 52-27, and, ground balls 35-26.
Johnson & Wales is on the road Saturday to take on Kean University at 1 pm.
