
PROVIDENCE, RI. - A fast start from the visitors led to a 15-9 defeat by the Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team at the hands of Norwich University on Saturday afternoon. Norwich jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

This game was a rematch on 2018 GNAC Championship, which JWU won 9-5 for its first conference championship.
Norwich started the game with two goals 5:02 into the first quarter, but the Wildcats answered with a man-up goal from Matt Gelb midway through the quarter.
Ben Farrell scored three unanswered goals in a 5:41 stretch to bring the Wildcats within one goal, 5-4, in the second. The Cadets answered with two-straight from Payden Masaracchia to head into the locker room up 7-4.
Farrell took over the team lead with 12 goals and 16 points after a four-point effort. Masaracchia had four goals for the Cadets on seven shots.
Norwich scored four goals in each of the last two quarters.
The Cadets had a 38-21 advantage in shots on goal and in ground balls, 37-23.
