WESTON, Mass. – A fast start kept the Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team in the hunt for a first round home game during the upcoming GNAC Tournament. The Wildcats went on the road to dominate Regis, 23-11, on Saturday.
Regis: 3-11, 1-7 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 6-10, 5-3 GNAC
Stone found the back of the net three more times in the second quarter as JWU took a 16-3 lead into the half. Stone led all players with a career-high six goals. Jacob deMey set a career-high with four goals while Lyons also had four goals, just one off his career-high.
Johnson & Wales had a 43-29 advantage in shots and won 22 faceoffs, compared to 14 by the Pride. The Wildcats also forced Regis into 24 turnovers and had a 45-33 advantage in ground balls.
The Wildcats wrap up the regular season on Wednesday when they travel to Mount Ida for a 6 p.m. contest.
