PROVIDENCE, RI – An offensive outburst in the first half propelled the Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team to victory on Wednesday. The Wildcats down Albertus Magnus 16-1.

Johnson & Wales had a 5-0 lead after the first 15 minutes then put the game out of reach during a four-minute span in the second quarter. Brad Kretz scored three times during a 6-0 run as the Wildcats established a 13-0 lead at the half.
The majority of JWU's goals came from a pair of players. Kretz scored a career-high five goals while senior Eric Russo broke his own single-game record with 10 points (four points, six assists).
Johnson & Wales doubled the Falcons shot production with a 60-29 advantage. The Wildcats took advantage of 21 AMC turnovers and picked up 33 ground balls compared to 17 by the visitors. JWU goalkeeper Bradley Morris only had to make nine saves to pick up the victory.
Johnson & Wales continues conference action on Saturday when it travels to Rivier for a 1 p.m. contest.
