MIDDLETOWN, RI – The third quarter has become the Achilles heel for the Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team. Salve Regina scored six unanswered goals in the third period Thursday to defeat the Wildcats, 14-7.

Johnson & Wales: 1-4
After not scoring in the first quarter, Johnson & Wales got five goals from five different players in the second stanza. Thomas Lyons scored with 1:22 left in the first half to pull the Wildcats within 6-5 at the break.
The Seahawks shutout the Wildcats to start the second half and build a 12-5 lead. Sam Sears scored two of his team-high three goals in the fourth quarter, but JWU could not cut into the deficit.
Salve Regina won 16 of 22 faceoffs and had a 50-28 edge in shots.
Johnson & Wales is back at home on March 17 to take on Roger Williams at 1 p.m.
