The Spartans scored less than a minute into the game, but the Wildcats came back with pair of goals.

Austin Withycombe got the rebound of his own shot and found the back of the net to tie the game.

At the 9:20 mark of the first period, Kodi Legassie centered a pass to Tal Finberg and his one-timer gave JWU the lead 2-1.

Eighteen seconds later the Spartans scored, but the Wildcats ended the period with a pair of goals. Off the rebound of Matt Bernot's shot, Jake Glod collected the puck in the corner and centered it to Withycombe who scored his second game on a wrist shot.

Connor Bechtel kept the puck in the Castleton zone and it eventually got to Max Dorfman and he buried his slap shot in the back of the net to put JWU up 4-2.

The Spartan scored twice in the second period to the game and neither team scored in the third period or overtime.

Keeping the Wildcats in the game was goaltender Mike Rockwell Jr. as he made a season-high 48 saves.

Going into his second season, head coach Eric Graham will only have to replace four seniors, but he is losing his top two scorers in Matt Bernot and Bechtel.
