NORTHFIELD, Vt. – An upset of the number one team in the country wasn't in the cards Friday night for the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team. The Wildcats lost 5-0 at No. 1 Norwich.
The loss dropped the Wildcats to 4-20, 1-16 in the NEHC, while the Cadets ran their record to 20-2-2 and 15-1-1 in conference.
Norwich got on the board just 26 seconds into the first period. The Cadets would add two goals in the second and third periods.
The Cadets had a 50-10 advantage and won 34 of 42 faceoffs.
Johnson & Wales concludes the season Saturday when it takes on Castleton at 4 p.m.
