PAWTUCKET, R.I. – A day after losing to Suffolk University, the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team broke through for its first NEHC victory of the season. Jake Glod scored the game-winner just 1:21 into overtime to lift the Wildcats past the Rams, 3-2, on Saturday.
Suffolk: 6-11-2, 2-8-2 NEHC
Johnson & Wales: 4-15, 1-11 NEHC
SU: Cal Wilcox (L, 4-7-2) 36 Saves
JWU: Mike Rockwell Jr. (W, 4-11) 24 Saves
Jake Glod (JWU): 1 Goal (GW), 1 Assist
Anthony Scarcella (JWU): 2 Assists

The loss snapped the Wildcats' 17-game conference losing streak, dating back to last season.
With time expiring in the third period and the Wildcats trailing, 2-1, Matt Gulack forced overtime with his goal off the assist from Max Dorfman and Jared Lamothe. It was the first point of Lamothe's collegiate career.
In the extra frame, JWU killed off a penalty that carried over from regulation. Just 10 seconds later, Anthony Scarcella swung the puck across the ice to Glod and his slap shot went top shelf past Suffolk goalie Cal Wilcox.
It's Glod's second game-winner of the year.
After a scoreless first period, the Rams took a 2-1 lead after the second period. Joseph Mortillaro and Devin Lowe sandwiched goals around Hunter Ross' first career goal.
JWU had a 39-26 advantage in shots and did not allow Suffolk to get one on frame in overtime.
The Wildcats go on the road Friday to face Southern Maine at 7 p.m.
