PROVIDENCE, RI – After a pair of strong offensive performances, the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team couldn't find the back of the net Tuesday night against NCAA Division II Stonehill College. The Skyhawks defeated the Wildcats, 3-0.
With the win, Stonehill improved to 3-7-1 while the Wildcats fell to 3-9.
Charles Page got the scoring started at the 8:30 mark of the first period when he beat Jeremy Skaife – who was starting the second game of his collegiate career in goal – on the breakaway. The Skyhawks tallied a goal in each of the final two periods to come away with the victory.
Stonehill had a 34-30 advantage in shots with SC goaltender Matthew Schoen stopping every shot he faced to improve to 2-4-1. Skaife fell to 0-2 despite making 31 saves.
