Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team hosted the Anna Maria College AMCATS on Friday for a non-conference affair before the holidays. The Wildcats capped off the year in style with a 9-1 victory.

The Wildcats started the first period in grand fashion, putting three on the board. Connor Cassidy's finish a breakaway goal by sweeping left on the keeper got things going in the right direction.
Graham Day would follow shortly with a goal off the pass from Peter Costa. Costa saw Day break in front of the goal and the quick pass led to a one-timer and the eventual game-winning goal. After a goal from the AMCATS at the eighth minute by Jack Sitzemen, Day got the face off to Connor Bechtel and his scorching shot found the right side of the goal.
Following a scoreless second period, the final period belonged to the Wildcats as they pushed six goals across to get the final tally. Three of the six were on the power play situations, including Kodi Legassie's second goal of the game.
JWU's nine goals are the most its posted in a game since it tacked nine on Southern New Hampshire on December 8, 2012.
The Wildcats held the shot advantage, 29-to-21, and were also 3-for-4 on the power play.
The Wildcats will return following the holiday break to play Sunday, January 5th at Franklin Pierce for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
