Wildcats Succumb to Statesmen

Geneva, N.Y. – The Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team traveled to Hobart College on Friday to take on a perennial power in the New England Hockey Conference.  The Wildcats held the Statesmen at bay for the first period only relinquishing one goal until Hobart erupted for the 9-0 victory in the subsequent periods.

Of Note:
The Wildcats played their best defense of the game in the first period when they held Hobart to a single goal by Zach Tyson in the 17th minute.  Mike Rockwell had 13 saves while JWU could only muster six shots of their own.  

In the second period JWU opened up the play a little bit and Hobart pounced at the opportunity, scoring four goals.  Alec Robitaille and Felix Lamoureux put goals past at the 4th and 18th minutes respectively.

The third period was much of the same as the second as the Statesmen kept the pressure on and capitalized four more times to cement the game's total.

The Statesmen dominated the shot advantage 60 to 22 and faceoffs were in also Hobart's favor 51 to 22.
